Director: Jason Reitman
Starring: George Clooney, Vera Farmiga
Hired "Career transition counselor" Ryan Bingham (George Clooney) has the job of firing real everyday people from their jobs around the US, while living a superficial bachelor life, with no particular goal but that of a good time and earning as many Frequent Flyer points it takes to join the elite 10 million mile club (no sex included)
After he himself is downsized when Natalie Keener (Anna Kendrick) is hired to implement an online version of his job, his life of Frequent Flyer Flippancy comes under review along with his direction when he falls for a like minded high Flyer (Vera Farmiga).
Great performances by everyone including the few non actors used in interview scenes who have had real life recent experience in getting fired from life long jobs... For me this was a funny, smart and tragic insight into that familiar question of "How much luggage should I pack", or is it "How much luggage should we accumulate?" Time to grow up and take some responsibilities on board before you get to your final destination, or there will be no one to share the experience with... ROBDIDO
