Director: Ridley Scott
Starring: Michael Fassbender, Cameron Diaz
Too many scenes with no point to them that don't go anywhere made this film 2 hours too long. Not to mention there appeared to be some sort of back story that is never fully explained to my satisfaction. Also I couldn't get my head around dumb ass criminals talking throughout the film like they had university degrees in philosophy.
The Counselor (Michael Fassbender) works for the Cartel and comes to the realization that greed is good. He wants in on a one time delivery of drugs coming from Mexico. Things go wrong and he gets into deeper shit than what the drugs where delivered in.
Acclaimed writer Cormac McCarthy wrote this for the screen but it didn't feel right for this medium. It felt like the all star cast where just reading from one of his books and even then the philosophical dialogues that nearly all characters had a go at, weren't that deep anyway.
If anything watch it just for the only ever onscreen sex scene with a car performed by Cameron Diaz. Javier Bardem is one lucky man. ROB
