Director: J.J. Abrams
Starring: Daisy Ridley, John Boyega
J.J Abrams can do no wrong. After the successful reboot of Star Trek, he was given the sacred job of continuing the Star Wars saga and with the weight of the galaxy on his shoulders he has come through with flying colors. The force is strong with this one. George Lucas can rest easy now, Abrams has got it covered.
Coming from a guy that saw the original trilogy a long time ago, I can say that the magic is still there. I love J.J Abrams subtle approach when it comes to legacy items throughout the film. He knows not to over do it and let the present story dictate the film. Sure we might spend a second or 2 reminiscing during some scenes, but then it's straight back into the action.
Not that the history is needed to enjoy the film, but you should revisit the original movies and refresh the family tree a bit. There are some exciting new plots that will give this new generation of fans something to hold on to and tell their kids when chapter 10 comes out in 20 years time. ROB
