After all these years the Chariots of the Gods has finally been vindicated and we have found that star system our ancestors have been trying to tell us about. Even better, Ridley Scott has taken us in style on the starship Prometheus, showing us once again he truly is the master of SCI-FI. If only it didn't feel like Erich Von Daniken wrote the script!

Across the world cave paintings all show a similar image of a star system. Archeologist (Noomi Rapace & Logan Marshall-Green) put forward the theory that it's a star map and alien invitation. They convince the Weyland Corporation boss (Guy Pearce) to take them there. Why they used Guy Pearce in dodgy makeup instead of hiring John Hurt ;-), I'll never know? Might be due to all the propaganda floating around on the net in the build up. Check him out all those years ago back in 2012 speaking at T.E.D

Visually, this is an amazing SCI-FI leap in film making, but I would have loved it more if they went a little deeper and spent extra time on some scenes. It felt rushed and confused in places and I never really got to know the crew that well, although Michael Fassbender as the robot is great. The tech stuff is smartly imagined and the science pretty credible, along with the aliens as far as future concepts go. If your a Ridley Scott fan then your going to love the ending.

Ideals from the 70’s hit documentary features: Chariots Of The Gods & The Outer Space Connections are cleverly incorporated in Ridley Scott’s latest science fiction extravaganza. When Ancient drawings from various civilizations strangely depicting flying objects & star systems are discovered in caves a question arises: What if civilization on Earth was “engineered” by aliens from a galaxy far far away?

Set in 2093 a group of space travelers engage on a mission financed by a trillionaire with the intention of meeting their makers & having questions answered as to why they were created. All goes well until they reach their destination where wormy reptile creatures start attacking and killing the astronauts. Very quickly they come to realize that this “great step forward for mankind” is actually 10 steps backwards as it could lead to the end of life on Earth as we know it.

Very stylish & high tech this is a not so subtle reworking of Scott’s 80’s hit Alien. Filled with suspense & gory alien action sequences it is quite nauseating at times & definitely not for the squeamish. Graphic footage of aliens splurting out of people’s stomachs & especially THE scene of a lady who has an automated cesarian of a reptile alien makes this a very trying movie. The special effects and 3D are amazing & will leave the viewer breathless. Guy Pierce has never looked so good as the 100 year old trillionaire who will stop at no expense to meet his makers.

The idea that civilization on Earth originated from aliens in outer space is very thought provoking and defies all religious beliefs. This theory which is plausible but highly improbable translates well in what is destined to be another popular and highly profitable Hollywood blockbuster.
