Director: Woody Allen
Starring: Owen Wilson, Rachel McAdams
OH!!! THE PAIN!!! THE PAIN!!!
Sitting through this dud was so painful that watching the test pattern on television may have proved to be a more enjoyable alternative!! Why is this movie receiving such accolade? Why are the critics raving?? Why has it been nominated for Academy Awards?
The problem with this film is Woody Allen. His uniquely dull and bland method of direction has once again created a slow moving corpse of a film which only his few fans could possibly appreciate.
It starts intriguingly, where a man wants to return to the 20’s to meet some gangsters and then he does. The movie soon derails owing to Woody’s awkward, repetitive and complex storytelling, and then it comes to a complete standstill where the viewer doesn’t know (or even care) whether the
characters are in the past or present. The abrupt ending could not have come any sooner..... Ten out of ten to Woody for consistency though....for creating one crappy movie after the other... JAKE 2/10
