Director: Jonathan Barre
Starring: David Marsais, Bregoire Ludig

Hilarity doesn't stride in this French comedy, it gallops as comic sensations David Marsais and Gregoire Ludig team up and take audiences on a hysterical journey through WWII. Ridiculed are the German, French and English armies, the Gypsies and Jews, gays, Muslims and everything else that is sacred.

War has been declared and two idiotic French men are forced to join the French army. They inadvertently become masters of deception and disguise, and are interrogated as suspicion arises of their collaboration with the Germans.

Through flashbacks they recount their involvement in war action, espionage, their escapades in a prisoner's camp and how they ultimately become French heroes in their own right…. (well sort of!)

Stereotyped characters and scenarios which commonly downgrade films of this nature into tasteless comedic disasters actually worked for this film, owing to the chemistry the talented duo shared and the “A” grade script which was overloaded with genuinely funny laugh-out-loud gags.

A cheeky send up of Adolf Hitler and a totally irrelevant and outlandish Hollywood musical number also add to the lunacy of this harmless and very enjoyable film. This is not an artistic cinematic gem, but it should however, transpire into a sure-fire hit at French Film Festivals screening all over the world.
