Director: Jeff Tremaine
Starring: Johnny Knoxville, Jackson Nicoll
The jackass team are back wisely giving popular "part time character" Grandpa his own movie. The fourth installment in this low budget but highly successful franchise will doubtlessly give fans more of what they expect -- vulgar, bawdy and gross toilet humour overloaded with extreme pranking which is guaranteed to keep the laughter rolling throughout it's 90 minute duration.
The basic storyline of Grandpa (Johnny Knoxville) driving his grandson (Jackson Nicoll) across America to be with his dad connects all the pranks. Along the way situations arise involving unsuspecting real "everyday people" unknowingly becoming participants in the pranks, as hidden cameras record their reactions delivering hysterical laughter.
The movie works well as the innocent bystanders are fooled in believing that grandpa is 86 years old. Knoxville is only 42 years old, but the brilliant makeup transforms him into the troublesome grandpa. The chemistry between Knoxville and Nicoll is overwhelming and they pass as the related "fabulous duo" out to cause havoc.
Jackass: Bad Grandpa isn't Shakespeare but then it wasn't meant to be. It's "an acquired taste" strictly for fans which is high on laughs, but low on IQ. JAKE † †
