Director: Quentin Tarantino
Starring: Brad Pitt, Christoph Waltz
Tarantino is back and he's pissed off. He has just made the ultimate revenge movie of the 20th Century. Using all of his trademark cuts, he has taken this WWII movie and given us a 'what if' of how history could have played, and what we all wanted to do if our moral conscience let us.
A Jewish cinema owner (Melanie Laurent) in occupied Paris is forced to host a Nazi movie premiere, where a radical group of American Jewish soldiers called the Basterds, led by Lt. Aldo Raine (Brad Pitt), plans to roll out a score-settling scheme, but not if Col. Hans Landa aka "The Jew Hunter" (Christoph Waltz) doesn't get in the way.
Spread over 5 chapters, the story drives the audience along for a great ride. A more mature film than his previous, it brings all the best bits of his past films and makes for a film that must be seen. Christoph Waltz' scenes are a stand out (my favorite would have to be the first scene of the movie). No doubt he will win awards for this role along with Tarantino. And he did. Christoph Waltz went on to win the 2010 Oscar Best Supporting Actor... ROBDIDO
Hey nice short but good review, too many of the big boys in movie press are sometimes to quick to critise but i rather read and appreciate the reviews from smaller press/websites, its more honest and from the heart. We do it for opinion rather than to get a few more people to visit our websites, good review and thanks for comment at my blog.http:
