Director: Alfonso Cuaron
Starring: Sandra Bullock, George Clooney
As inspiring and magical it might be to gaze up towards the heavens, it sure is one inhospitable place to visit. Life in space is impossible and the laws of gravity up there make going for a nice long spacewalk a nightmare. Fortunately Alfonso Cuaron has given us a truly amazing glimpse at what it's like and thrown in some edge of your seat suspense along the way.
George Clooney and Sandra Bollocks star as two astronauts sent into a spin while on a spacewalk when debris hits their space shuttle. With nowhere to run and nothing to grab on to, they embark on an impossible mission to save themselves or be forever lost in space.
The special effects are so life like, I sometimes experienced a slight feeling of vertigo. The 3D didn't help, but I'm not complaining because it really is a magical movie going experience. Throw in that suffocating feeling you sometimes get when seeing other people gasping for air and the nerve racking suspense from start to finish, I almost forgot to enjoy the view while I was up there. And boy what a view. ROB
