Director: Sebastian Lelio
Starring: Paulina Garcia, Sergio Hernandez
Gloria (Paulina Garcia) is 58 years old, has been divorced for 12 years, has 2 adult children whom she rarely sees and is lonely, needing romance rekindled in her life.
She attends singles' parties and after many disappointments meets Rodolfo (Herandez) a man whom she hopes to have a future with - until the suffocating bond he shares with his ex wife and daughters comes to surface.
This Chilean film starts off well but fails to impress in the second half, leaving audiences somewhat disappointed with notable lack of substance and escalating dullness. The direction seems to change and silly sub-plots added nothing to the course of the film.
These elderly characters are involved in many confronting scenes containing high levels of nudity and sexual content which is off putting and may repel many viewers.
The inclusion of 80's Italian hit Gloria by Umberto Tozzi played in the final scenes also felt inappropriate. JAKE
