This “comedy” set during Halloween, is about the adventures a girl has while trying to locate her 8 year old brother who has gone missing while trick-or-treating. Albert is a fat annoying kid who hasn’t spoken since the death of his father. In the course of the movie he becomes best mates with a loser who likes playing pranks on people.

Fun Size is a colossal celluloid mess which should, without hesitation, be entered into the Hall Of Shame. It’s a prime example of a movie so bad that it should never have been released. With absolutely no redeeming features, it fails in all areas of production. The major problem is that as a comedy it’s very flat & fails to deliver. The gags aren’t free flowing & are very contrived resulting in smirks from the audience rather than laughter.

There’s also confusion as to who the target audience is. Produced by Nickleodeon, at first it has all the features of a children’s movie, but with all the smutty sexual innuendos that follow, it leaves one asking the question. The tear jerking scenes in the finale which are meant to tug at the heart strings don’t work owing to the nature of the story.

Ultimately this movie is lame, corny & woeful. The prank scenes are so uninventive that they will invoke restlessness in the youngest of children. It tries unsuccessfully to emulate the immense fun derived from movies like Home Alone & Baby’s Day Out. There’s absolutely no fun to be had here. With a complete script rewrite it could live up to its title.
