Director: Craig Brewer
Starring: Kenny Wormald, Julianne Hough
And you thought the kids back in 1984 where out of control with their loud music and gyrating hips. Well get a load of today's youth, they have all turned into pole dancing strippers and out of control booty shaking... well you get the picture, every generation thinks the one before has pushed the envelope.
Ren MacCormack (Kenny Wormald) is a rebel without a clue as he tries to fight against the town folk of Bomont that have banned loud music and dancing due to an accident that killed some school kids after a party. He get's footloose and fancy with the Reverend's (Dennis Quaid) daughter (Julianne Hough) and dances off a bit of steam along the way.
Just like in the original, the whole idea behind the film was to try and bring back the rebelliousness of the 60's and the excitement of breaking all the rules. They stopped only filming Elvis from the waist up a long time ago. Aside from the hard to believe main plot, it's not that bad a film, Kenny Wormald does his best James Dean and the rest of the cast do their best boot scooting & pole dancing routines... ROBDIDO
