Burnt examines the competitive world of being a restaurateur and chef. The pressure and hardships to maintain high levels of excellence, where good and excellent won't suffice, where each meal prepared must be perfect first time and every time.

Adam Jones (Bradley Cooper) is a prominent chef who has worked & operated many reputable restaurants in his career, a career which has flat lined owing to his arrogance & questionable habits of drinking, drug usage and womanizing with co-workers.

Desperate for redemption, he hires a team of the best chefs, opens a restaurant in London & strives for the dream of all red blooded restaurateurs to obtain 3 Michelin stars for his restaurant.

There are obstacles which must be hurdled, the most dangerous being the mysterious food critics, who can make or break restaurants & whose attendance cannot be forecast. His greatest obstacle is himself - highly egotistical, obsessed with perfection & most notably the sins from his past may prove to be detrimental.

Cooper once again delivers a fresh and natural performance, whose angst filled sequences in the kitchen are ferociously loud & incredibly intimidating. He shares top billing with Sienna Miller, his love interest, who sadly lack chemistry as a couple. Uma Thurman is outstanding in a small but vital role as the shark, a food critic.

Burnt is an enjoyable film which may mystify movie-goers as to what goes on behind closed kitchen doors at their favourite restaurant. This film stimulates the taste buds, with visually-appetizing scenes of meals being prepared, seemingly in the comfort of the darkened cinema.
