Is it any wonder Australian films are snubbed when they continue making celluloid fodder such as A Few Best Men? The “Bridesmaids - would-be-if-it-could-be”, deceivingly masquerades as a comedy when in actual fact it’s about as funny as a heart attack!
The premise to this supposedly “hilarious comedy” is a man is getting married and brings his three dysfunctional mates over from England to be his best men, and they nearly wreck his wedding. Yobbo-ish, boring, lame, predictable and unoriginal, it should have been labelled “never to be released” and shelved for eternity...
Whatever possessed Olivia Newton John to get involved with such an atrocity? Did she not read the pathetic script? The scene where her character snorts cocaine was included for high laughter, but just like the other “three funny moments” in the film it backfired badly. Poor Olivia’s involvement in this mess has done her career no favours, and she would have done best to stay out of the limelight. - You have been warned....keep away from this turkey! Without hesitation, my second entry into the Hall Of Shame... JAKE 0.5
