What a fantastic & fitting end to one of the most successful animation franchises of all time. It's a little shame to end it now, because watching this in 3D really added (literally) a new dimension to the Shrek world. This is perfect in 3D. They have really outdone themselves, showing us how 3D can enhance the viewing experience, when done properly.
Along with the magic of 3D you still need a good story, and is pretty good. Shrek (Mike Myers) is in the midst of a midlife crisis with Fiona (Cameron Diaz) & strikes a deal with Rumpelstiltskin (Walt Dohrn) to trade one day of his life so he can live as a fearful Ogre like the old days. He is tricked and ends up in an alternate universe.
3 films later, and all the characters pretty much over exposed, I wasn't expecting much. But with the new 3D element added, it renewed my enthusiasm for the big old green Ogre. Best part was watching what the characters turned into in the evil alternate world, especially Puss in Boots, and yes he does do the big sad eyes thing one last time... ROBDIDO
